My 6 month old Blues Deluxe RI has developed a loud hiss while in the clean channel setting. It happens with or without a guitar plugged in. Since it happens with or without a guitar, that also eliminates my cables. Does anyone have suggestions on what else I can try?

Are there any possible sources of interference nearby, like Tv's, radios, anything like that?
If that's not it, the tubes could be the culprit. Give the power tubes a litlle wiggle and make sure they are set well in their sockets. Someitimes the socket themselves need cleaning, but that would be unusual with a newer amp like yours.
If it's brand new, contact Fender or the dealer you bought it from for further possibilities. I'm no amp tech, I just know a few tricks and tips picked up over the years.
One last question - is it on standby when hissing like that?

Thanks, I'll check out the tubes. Yes, is is on standby (actually does not start the hiss until standby is on).

Replace the phase invertor tube with a Sovtek 12AX7 LPS. This is a low noise tube and works well in this position. It is the preamp tube nearest your power tubes.

i have the same problem with my blues deluxe. i have tried replacing the tubes, pure electric souce, and no radio's or tvs around and it still does it. any other ideas because my last step is to take it to the repair shop and have fender pay for it (warrenty).

I had that happen once.........was plugged into the same circuit as a lamp with CFL lights. I plugged into another wall......no problem.
