I have a HRD and just purchased a Tube Screamer TS9. I'm playing a 50th Anniversary Strat.

I would like to find out from you the best settings to get that SRV tone. So amp, effect, and guitar volume/tone settings including which pickup (I have read SRV used the neck pickup most of the time).

I know much of SRV's tone was a result his hot pickups, thick strings, and most of all playing style ... I'm no SRV ;) ... need settings for an intermediate guitarist who just learned to play Mary Had a Little Lamb.

Thanks!

Carouse http://steviesnacks.com and http://oldtonezone.com
lots of stuff, info and lessons there on trying to sound like SRV
which seems to be a holy grail for many people :D

Hit the gear demos page to get some sound samples of what the site owner is about (Anthony owns both above sites )

Here's a list of SRV's amps and the settings he used. Hope it helps. :)

He also used heavy guage strings so take that in consideration too.

I put Texas Specials in my Strat and it has that chunk-a-chunk sound now! :D
