What's your preference for every day use, I'm not talking gigging - just every day playing.

I admit I do not own a Tube amp, this of course will be taken care of eventually.

I just have a Marshall solid state 30 watt amp right now but I'm hoping to upgrade to a vintage Fender tube amp if I can eventually find one and the price is right.

Then why don't you buy a blues jr. or something like that .. it's what 375ish... Nice amp for just playing around for practice... i'm not sure if you'd ever be able to play with a drummer tho... it's a hell of allot better than the SS marshall.... But i have a line 6 spider II right now that i'm plugging my '52 re Telle into... Well I think i'm getting an amp upgrade this weekend =0 ('65 reverb)

I like a tube preamp with solid state power amp. With bass, it means you get great tones with a good amount of power too.

I too like the mixed amps. The tubed preamp, matched with todays clean SS amps.

I prefer Valve over solid state because even though the digital modeling stuff has gotten better it still doesn't sound exactly like a real valve amp. Unfortunately since I don't have a lot of money at the moment I had to buy a Marshall SS but, I'm hoping to get a Hot Rod Deluxe once I get enough money.

I have 3 tube amps and 2 solid state amps and 1 modeler. The Blues Jr. is capable of playing live and will keep up with most drummers, in a pinch mic it.

I have one tube amp (modfied Blues Jr) and one solid state amp (Cube 60). I can get a decent tone I like out of both.

i spent years with a crappy solid-state marshall. i never knew how good my guitar could sound, until i played it through a decent tube amp. i bought a deville a couple of years ago and now i won't even play through my old marshall. the sound quality is so dramatically different.
that being said, i do like the sound of my guitars played through a friend's SWR hybrid amp. I've always liked the sound of guitars through bass amps.

Tubes of course, though I love my SS Bronco. She's just been so good to me.

Tubes always and forever. Solid state can't even come close.

I love tube amps. I'll probably never buy a solid state amp again.
