OK all you Strat experts I need your thoughts. I just bought my first Strat and it's a 50th Anniversary American Deluxe. I am quite new at this and was wondering what a good Fender tube amp would be for use at home. I don't see myself playing anywhere outside of the home for a long time.

A Blues Jr. or Pro Jr would be good on the lower end. It depends on how deep you pockets are. Used Silverface Champ Amps are great too. 6 Watts and plenty loud enough for home and recording use. If you're just playing at home, you really don't need something above 15 watts. The solid state amps are cheaper, but I never cared for them tone wise. The G-Dec seems like it would be a good learning tool also.

Welcome,

Without anymore specifics I would recommend you look at or research these

1- Blues Jr
2- DRRI

They are both more than plenty for home use, tube, on the lighter side of the spectrum and will give you flexibility to mod them or add pedals if you need to contour the sound your looking for. They are also priced well.

I'm not sure this gets you there but it's a start, I'm sure others will chime in.

X

Thanks for the reply. Cost is a relative thing for me. I don't mind paying for quality. What general price levels are we talking about for new and used?

Sorry for the quick hijack here, but how did you come up with the name you are using (vetter)?

I have had that nickname for years because I used to drive a Corvette.
