Trying to get some input on new speaker for a DLX RVB RI. I have always loved the sound of the blue alnico but the greenback sounds nice and warm as well. I mainly play blues and classic rock stuff but this will be used mainly as my clean amp only. Any suggestions is appreciated!
Thanks everyone. Guitars used is as follows (may determine speaker to go with)
Gibson '59 Korina Flying V reissue
Gibson '61 SG
Fender Eric Johnson Strat

Chet,
The Jensen C-12K in the deluxe reverb is a great speaker, what do you gain by this change ??

The OP was wanting suggestions and mentioned Celestions. The Scumbacks I recommended are Pre-Rola Celestion clones and sound better than the originals. And Yes I have compared them in person.
My personal amps have Scumbacks in them!

Chet, I am going to have to try one of these speakers! You have never wavered from this product and if it is like the V-Pick you got me to try I know it's got to be great!

Jim has seen it. ;-) Email him and ask him about the history of the "Big Mike Mix".

If you want to keep the amp clean, I am not sure that celestion or celestion clones are the way to go. I agree, what's wrong with the fender speaker?

Celestions are great, but the tend to break up, especially the greenback. I have no experience with the alnico blue, but have heard they sound good

The only way to know for sure is to try them out. Find someone who has one or the other in an ext. cab and hook up to it.
The Scumbacs sound interesting, never heard, or heard OF them, until now.
I also like Tone Tubbby speakers, but speakers are SO subjective, and what you're hearing is always affected by the room and million other variables. So often I have thought I liked the sound of a speaker, only to take it to the studio or a gig and find out that it's not at all what I thought. I tend to stick with Celestions, Vintage 30's or Greenbacks, because I've used them so much that I know what they sound like, and know I can work with them no matter what.
But that's just me....I could be mistaken!
