I have a Frontman 15R with a blown fuse. Its about 2 years old. Lots of other forums seem to indicate that this is a common problem. This has had only very light use, and this sort of thing shouldn't happen.

Based on the schematic, seems like it's a short in the primary side of the transformer, but other forums seem to indicate frequent and common problems in the Power Amplifer TDA2050.

Any one have any experience with this? Frankly I'm a little frustrated with my Fender experience right now.

Well, it shouldn't be too hard to fix. You should email Fender directly and ask them to walk you though it. Here's the address:

consumerrelations@fender.com

Good luck!

Yea it should have a five year warranty. I have the same one Fender 15R and seem to have the same problem. I have had it for less than a year and the fuse just blew for a second time. I don't understand. All I did was try to use the aux plugged it in turned around power was out. Anyone have any ideas?

Anyways I just take it to the store and they give me a new one.

Great outcome! I sent an email to customer relations at Fender, shipped the bad amp to Arizona and just opened the box on a new replacement yesterday. I'm very pleased with the response from Fender. Now its time to save some money to buy a new Fender Amp.

That's one of the sweet things about dealing with Fender. They seem to pride themselves on standing behind their products. I am fortunate to know one of their people in upper managment very well and he's very proud of the company he works for. Great people!! Glad to hear that it turned out right for you but I am not surprised. They are just that way at Fender.

I am hoping my outcome will be good as well but it doesn't look that way. After contacting Fender's customer service dept., I was told to take my bummed amp to one of their authorized repair shops. After checking it out, they said the power source was shot. That was last Monday and I haven't heard anything from the Fender shop as to what the company plans to do about it. Replace or repair it. I keep being told the warranty "guy" wasn't in.

My amp also has a 5 year warranty but the power source blew in under 2 years of light use. This has been my first experience with Fender and I'm not too impressed right now.
