Hello guys,

I want to know your opinions about the clean sound of the 57 deluxe amp. I heard it is very sensitive and are afraid that it will affect the clean sound too much. I'm looking for a nice clean tone (like the one of a 65 deluxee reissue) and want the nice break up sound at moderate leveles. Who doesn't? The 57 specs sounds perfect but how does the clean sound compare to a 65 deluxe or twin amps? Or should I go better with a 65 deluxe and an attenuator (I already own a THD Hot Plate 8 ohms).

The point is I can't try the 57 deluxe, my shop only orders it if I buy it. What a shame... But I do tried a 65 deluxe and twin.

Thank you.

That's a shame. Tweeds aren't everyone's thing. They don't have a ton of clean headroom. They are very organic, dynamic and touch sensitive. I happen to love them. How about your local shops return policy? This is not an inexpensive amp.
Another thing to remember is these things are only something like 12 watts. For me Tweeds are some of the best sounding amps around. YMMV
