Just got the DRRI about 6 weeks ago and have used for 5 gigs with my classic rock/oldies band. Nice tone with Standard Strat with predicted breakup around volume setting 4-5. After that it doesn't get louder just more distorted.
I've ordered a Tone Tubby Ceramic speaker hoping I can get a bit more headroom out of the amp. Many of my solos are straight guitar into the amp and I need a cleaner sound.
Has anybody out there loaded this speaker into their DR? Did it help?
Thanks!

I dont know how loud your band plays, but it is only 22 watts. You might try a mic and run it thru the pa .

We play very small venues, however their sound carrying characteristics vary widely. One in particular has nice carpeted stage and carpeted bar area with small dance floor. Sound from my amp just dies. Agree it's only 22 watts but we aren' that loud. I'm going to use my 40W Vibrolux next gig there...should solve the problem.
Appreciate the suggestion about miking through the PA. Just left a band that miked everything and I hated that. To complicated to set up...gigs don't pay enough to fund a sound man as well.
Rock on!

Bob,
A high efficiency speaker can help. Also, I would talk to Bob at Eurotubes, he's real knowledgeable and friendly. He may be able to recommend something. Be aware he only sells JJ's. Great sounding tubes though. Playing with the tubes can get you more headroom too.

part of your problem is the carpeted floors. The carpet acts like a sponge and absorbs your sound. If you have no pa system, you can put your amp on a amp stand so it will project out

If your band is not playing very load, tilt the amp back, treble at 8 and bass 5 and you will cut through. The Jensen C-12K is fine.
