May Darwinism please take effect! I have an acquaintance who just inherited all of his Dad's personal items, to include his guitar equipment. He told me that he would sell me his new (very old) guitar and amp this weekend. However, I just found out that he traded this gear for a bag of weed! Now here's the kicker... It was an original '68 Les Paul Custom and a original '65 Twin Reverb! Both in MINT condition. And he couldn't wait two more days. He had told me he would take 2 grand total for both items and he traded it for $100 of weed

Ouch and even at that they would have been a steal at 2k. :(

It is hard to understand some peoples priorities.
Maybe you should let him know what they were probably really worth, may make him think a bit next time. Or maybe just really tick em off.

Weed consumption doesn't tend to make people more intelligent.

The guy needs to take the evolutionary step up the ladder to amoeba.

What an absolute idiot. Never mind the monetary value they were inherited from his dad.

I told the guy that his 100 bucks of weed could have netted him over $10,000 with a mint true '65 twin reverb and true '68 LP Custom (black)
This guy about cried and he easily could have sold it for that much IMHO

He must have smoked before finding out the value of the guitar and amp. Thats what happens when drugs rule your life.

People like that should not be allowed to procreate.

what city is this guy from? I have a feeling the buyer will probably unload this fast. It would be interesting to see if this equipment shows up on daBay or Craig.

His dad should come back from the grave and frighten the HELL out of this guy.

That would make me reconsider doing drugs again.[/img]
