Need some assistance or guidance if you will. I have a Blues Deville 4X10. And the beast is squealing on me nearly making me deaf. I have narrowed down all the options (Feedback from guitar, cables, volume, etc.). The source if the problem lies directly with the Drive knob. It will squeal at almost all levels.

Guitar plugged in: Squeals about level 4 and beyond.
Guitar unplugged, ALL Volumes ALL the way DOWN, Squeals about level 6 and beyond.

And, I can only play with the drive when it is about level 2. Which is not what I am wanting.

So, has anyone ever had this kind of problem? If so, what remedy is there?

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

You might have a microphonic tube. Tap lightly on the preamp tubes and see which one it is. Probably V2.
