Of course with that title you guys know exactly why I'm on the Fender forum. I'm currently trying to buy all my stuff for my 'rig'. I already have my crunch/ lead tone set; a Marshall Vintage Modern (50 Watt) on a two speaker Avatar cabinet. (Vintage 30/ G12H30).

Now I need an awesome clean tone. I plan to A/B switch the two amps, so that isn't the problem. I also don't want to get any louder than 50 watts if I can help it, so it will be easy to set the amps. I used to own a Hot Rod Deluxe, and I was in love with it. I had to sell it to pay for part of my car and now my memory is getting a bit fuzzy. I know I had to crank- crank it to make it break up. Like 9 o clock plus got overdrive. I know if I gig I would never turn it that high. Do you guys think a Hot Rod Deluxe on top of a matching cabinet would be an affordable option for a clean channel?

I don't want to spend too much, judging the next thing I plan on purchasing is a Japanese made double bound reissue telecaster.

Any or all of your input would be much appreciated!
