I'm looking at a Bassman 250 standalone amp. However, I've seen some good deals on Bassman 250 combo cab/amps. If I bought the combo and pulled the amp out, how would it differ from that standalone amp? That is, is the case different?

Never have "pulled ours out" of the combo cabinet, but the amp section does have the rack mount bracket attatched in the combo version. Dave

I don't see any rackmount bracket on the Bassman 250 head.

However, it does appear to have a carpet-covered enclosure. I guess that's the difference. I'm guessing that an amp pulled out of a combo unit probably wouldn't be the best choice as a head as it wouldn't have the protection given by these enclosures.
