This seems to have just started happening...Doesn't really seem to happen until the amp's been on for a little while. It will be playing along fine and then when I dig in, it starts breaking up like there's a bad cable. It sounds like when you're pulling the cable out. I can hit the low E and it just totally craps out. I wondered if it was a blown speaker or something, but it didn't do it for about 5 minutes. I've never really heard of a tube causing that - I thought they would start to crackle or something. I guess you could call this crackling though, but it's when I play hard. From my understanding, the tubes are only covered for 90 days - and I'm pretty sure I'm just out of that. Just wondering if it's something that you could definitely blame on a bad tube...

BTW - I've ruled out the guitar, cables, pedals - everything - it's definitely the amp. One thing I haven't checked is if it's the reverb - although it doesn't sound like it...

Make sure the tubes are all seated right. A loose or shifted tube can create some headaches. If your amp is near a computer or you have your cell phone on your belt you could be picking up the signals from those items. Tube Amps have been known to pick up radio signals as well.

I have the same problem, at first i was having problem with my preamps tube because they had melted plastic on it so i thought it was the same problem again, but i check and it was not. So when i got the same problem, those loud crackles sounds, i played with the tube and it seem that one of my tube was not plugged in correctly, and that was the problem. Or in my case, maybe it's the socket that can't really hold the tube propely.

Anyway, check your tubes if they are correctly plugged in.

Good luck!
