I'm pretty new to this so please have mercy...

I have a re-issue '65 dexuxe reverb. There are 2 input jacks for each channel. Now, I have been told that you don't want to plug in 2 guitars at the same time. So, the dumb question that has to be asked is that if you aren't supposed to plug in two guitars, why the 2 jacks per channel??

Thanks in advance

The second input jack on each channel has 6dB less gain "for high output and pre-amplfied instruments." I'll plug a Gibson or a Gretsch in to input 2 occasionally for cleaner tones at higher volume settings but it works well with Strats and Teles, too.
