I have the Bassman 100 combo purchased last week which has a line out xlr for connection to a mixing desk. I want to connect this to the mic input on our mixer like other instruments that use DI boxes but this means that the mixing desk will apply phantom power to the line output of the Bassman amp.

Does anyone know if this can cause damage to the amp?

First off if you are not using a condenser mic turn the phantom poiwer off, and secondly itl will not damage ithe amp.
