Hi all. I was wondering if anyone else experiences a volume reduction when the footswitch is being used with the amp. I just got mine recently and am just getting familiar with it and notice a slight difference in vibrolux/bassman volume when the footswitch is being used. Does not seem to affect the burn channel though. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

There is a big difference between the vibrolux and bassman volume regardless of whether you use the footswitch or front panel pushbutton to change the channels. It's just a flaw with the amp design...

Thanks for your comment Len8. I've noticed that is the case but this seems to be more related to when the footswitch is plugged in. I swapped out the standard cable it came with for with another instrument cable and it seemed to get a little better but i notice that it is different when its plugged in.

I also had an odd experience with it while i was switching between channels with the switch. At one point it just 'reset' and volumes were normal and high again... but i then had the same issue after i put it into standby again and then took it out of standby. Is there a tube associated with the footswitch that could be bad? Or perhaps a bad switch? It seems to switch channels fine but there is that volume issue.... No problem at all when the switch is out of the circuit and i use the front panel controls though, vibrolux/bassman is plenty loud then... but i'd like to be able to use the switch if possible.

Thanks for any and all ideas.

Well, the volume variations with the footswitch seem to have gone away. I kept the amp on for a long time on Saturday and did not experience any volume issues at all. The only thing I did was let it sit overnight and then in the morning I gently reseated all the tubes, although I did not find any to be loose at all and doubt that had any affect on things. I'll repost if it comes back again but hopefully it was a perceived issue related to the different volume levels that are found in the vibrolux and bassman channels and both of those compared to the burn channel with its independent volume control. Overall, excellent amp though. :-)

just back browsing the forum and noticed that i had not provided an update ont my supersonic volume issue. problem was related to a bad patch cable between my compressor and distortion pedal. once i removed it and used a quality item all was well. the amp is awesome and has great tone and i really like it. and it can definitely get loud :-)

only thing i'm not so fond of is the hiss i get passing my giga-delay pedal through the effects loop on the clean channel. totally disappears on the burn channel though.
