Please share the setting on your Bassman and state what type of sound or style of music you play it with. I just want to get some ideas.[/b]

I play an '84 Fender p-bass with a maple neck thru a '08 Bassman 250/115. I play several genres of music however, I primarily play christian folk these days and go for a very muddy, deep bass sound.

I have to constantly change them to compensate for each venue, however; these are my basic settings:

Vol 3
Comp Rat 6-7
Room Bal 4-5
contour 4
Bass +3
lo mid freq 360
lo mid lvl -5
hi mid freq 2k
hi mid lvl 0
treble +9

Thanks for sharing your settings!!! :D

I have a Bassman 150, so it's pretty much the same as your amp except for the room balance.

I haven't really tested my with a band, it's new. So I'm getting used to the settings and the sound that I can produce with it. I play a Squier Vintage Modified P-bass.

I play at church too, moslty pop-rock songs.

My setting are usually this and it's just varies a bit here and there depending on what I play:

Compresstion: around 7-8
Bass: -7.5 ( that' in the munus, I have it quite low)
Low Mid freq: 650
Low Mid Level: -8
Hi Mid freq 1.5
Hi Mid level: -7
Treble: - 5

I really want to get a classic P-bass sound to it, close to John Deacon's, although he uses flat strings and I have roundwound.

With this setting I find that I have more definition and texture in the tone. And I can switch between finger playing and pick.

I'm surprised that my bass level for this amp is low, in my old amp Ibanez SW100, I had my bass way up about 3/4. I'm not sure if it's the amp or me that's change a lot.
