I recently purchased a (you guessed it) Blues Jr. and after i play on it for about 5 minutes i hear a small pop and the volume decreases. i don't think the tone is affected much - just that sudden cut in volume. is this normal??

What a coincidence. I started to have the same type of problem (I have the DeVille 410), but mine did it mostly when you'd first crank it up and start to play. It was like you couldn't get any volume out of the amp, and I could hear pop and crackling type of sounds.

As it turns out, it wasn't my amp, it was a bad connection at the output jack on my guitar. I could always push the plug of the cord in and put pressure on it and hold it there and it would get better. So I pulled my jack out and cleaned all the contact points with alittle sandpaper and bent the prong up some so it would put more pressure on the plug.

I haven't had any more trouble, everythings perfect now.

Maybe your having the same type of problem, wouldn't hurt to check it out.
