If a new Cyber Twin were created, what would you want in it? What accessories? What features?

Here's what I would want kept:
1. the general combo look and shape - so easy to transport, all in one
2. all of the back connectors for driving mixing boards, PAs, and SPDIF
3. the casters - this is important to me and to wood floors
4. the variety of tones
5. keep it as a professional, roadworthy, rock-reliable rig
6. the general look and feel - it's quite pleasant

Here's what I want more of:
1. more tones focused on color, ambience, varieties of clean and ever so slight dirt.
2. optical SPDIF to compement the electrical
3. a much better built-in tuner - the current SE tuner is not the most stable tuner, my Boss TU-15 gives much better results.

here is what I want less of:
1. Heavy distortion or heavy settings.
2. Less weird settings like "broken amp"

Here's some features I would like to see in a new version:
1. Ability to daisy chain the guitar signal into as many Cyber Twins as I need to. I do this now but I use an external signal pre-amp/splitter.
2. Built-in wireless hookup to guitar
3. Built-in wireless hookup to PC
4. Full feedback to the PC so that PC based software (like Cyber Commander) does not become unsynchronized - you have to read the Cyber Commander manual to understand this issue
5. If you put in a larger "data window", please don't use a cheap LCD display - use a LED backlight quality display and protect it with a replacable, hardened, tranparent panel - on the road, things happen and flimsy things break!
6. Tilt-back legs!
7. A small storage box where reverb unit would normally be in tude amps(for button switches and various cables) - don't be stingy with size.
8. Hmmm, how about a BOSS TU-15, or something as good as, built into the Cyber Twin?

Now if Fender is really bold...
1. Direct sound output as .wav file output to PC so that we can record clips directly.
2. Software to mix and edit our tracks and possibly create a complete piece.
3. G-DEC like stuff BUT NOT PERMANENTLY BUILT INTO CYBER TWIN. Everything on the PC with the ability to download from PC to new Cyber Twin.
4. Cyber Twin software download ability so that new firmware can be downloaded from Fender's site (through a PC) to Cyber Twin. Firmware upgrade should be done with our PCs, not by service center.
5. A lot of memory and a powerful processor to accommodate firmware upgrades.
6. Allow me to build my own effects if possible - and software that would let me do that. Allow me to chain whatever effects I want as opposed to having only the fixed set of built-in preset effects

and my own personal slant:
1. NO TUBES. Use solid state emulations with possibility of programming them, but no frickin tubes. This probably runs against the current fashion sensibilities but I really couldn't stand the unreliability and the constancy of the "one" tone that tube amps provide. If you do go with tube emulation, programmability with easy to use software suggested (extreme focus on easy to use) that simulates bias settings.
2. Cyber Twin manuals were very poorly written, SE manual worse than original. I mean awful. Better manuals suggested. Maybe a tutorial on DVD? or YouTube?
3. How about a Cyber Commander with every Cyber Twin?

Well, these are my thoughts... a penny for yours!
Ciao,
Johnny.

I would say - yes to everything you said above - plus

A good looper built in.
I think G-Dec's already have some form of looper now. (not sure though)

Also, keep the effects loop, and put it after all preamp functions (some of the effects come after the effects loop in mine) and just before the power amps.

Maybe go back to the silver/blue grill cloth might be nice. My black/silver shows a place for every little thing that has gotten even close to it. It keeps me busy cleaning it. I like things to look good. I'm definitely not into the beat up look. To me that 'relic' look is just an excuse for carelessness.

In my opinion, the idea of no tubes is a VERY good idea. Also in my opinion, those tubes are probably the weakest part of the whole amp.

BTW - are there any rumors of a new Cyber Twin??

The two biggest things I'd like to see are both in the effect section.

1) Distortion pedal emulation. I know we have the "overdrive" based on a Tubescreamer and we have a "fuzz" but I would like to see something along the lines of a RAT distortion or similar. The overdrive is a bit nasal and the fuzz is too fuzzy for some applications. The distortion would also open up a plethora of new amp models.

2) The ability to mix any two effects together. Whether it be two delays or a phaser and a flanger. Your choice. It would allow for more creative options. Being able to cascade two of the same effect would be awesome. Think of the sonic mayhem you could create with two wahs going at the same time. You could also set up subtle combinations that are currently unavailable.

As I stated above the addition of the distortion would add more amp model choices so additionally I would like to see the amp collection expanded to 75 - 100 models. Not necessarily a bunch of high gainers either. A distortion pedal with the distortion turned way down offers a slighty breaking up sound that is to some the Holy Grail of tone.

I'll be thinking of other additions.

Man you nailed it with the tuner. The one on the amp is barely passable. I'd love some sort of virtual strobe tuner on it.

I disagree on getting rid of the tubes. The tube compression gives the amp it's touch sensitivity. What they could do in addition to tubes is put a dual distortion path similar to the Digitech 2120 with one path being solid state and the other running through the tubes. That way you could have either solid state, tube or both simultaneously. I had some sweet stereo distortions going on with my 2120 running the tube distortion on the left and the solid state on the right.

I would love to have a looping effect with a 5 to 10 second delay. I'd also like more control over the compressor and the noise gate. Being able to tweak the attack time of the gate would allow some really killer orchestral swell sounds to be programmed into the Cyber-Twin as well.
