Glad you liked what you saw! We left the legs off for price and weight reasons. You certainly could add a set later if you wish.

Videos of these super-cool amps will be posted in a week or so.

Thanks,

Shane

Yes, sound clips and video demos are needed. And when they are available, the manuals so we can see exactly the controls will work.

Both The Band-Master VM and the Deluxe VM look very interesting.

Here's a link for those folks who want see what we are talking about.

Hey all, just joined to find out more about the Bandmaster.

I`ve been playing an old red knob solid state Power Chorus amp for almost 20 years now and want to try something new from Fender, I like the foot pedal feature and the on-board effects.
I also want louder and some simple effects so I am itching to know more.

They can only say so much in the advert. I wonder what some more of the ideas behind it were, who specifically is targeted with it, what made it come to be, what kind of response from testers was given.

I was in a music store today who sells Fender and they hadn't heard of this amp.

-cheers

Hey Shane,
Great job reintroducing the Bandmaster. It would be cool if there were tolex/cab cloth color options. I had one back in the late '60s and am inspired to look into buying the new version. My Twin Custom 15 is just too much to tote around.

It would have been nice to reissue the plain old Bandmaster without all the bells and whistles and the PCB's. I wish I never sold my 74 Bandmaster. Incredible sounding amp. Totally reliable too. You can still find them for reasonable prices used.

Even amps have to evolve. The bandmaster and deluxe are professional name sakes IMHO. Fender has done quite a bit of vintage and modified stuff in recent years, and I think they have been in the right nitches (is that a word?)

The new bandmaster and deluxe VM is interestingly place in between. I really like the idea of two channels with separate eq (YEA!!) and they put just the right effects in there too. I think if they would have gone with amp models and far more effects like they did with the champ XD's they would have messed up. Now the champ XD's are great amps, but when you have the bandmaster and deluxe name going on, you have to do it right....even if it means evolving the amp some. In this case, I think Fender has probably hit a home-run.

At first, I was concerned they were Asian amps. Again..not a good thing IMO for a pro quality amp. But I was wrong. These are being made in Mexico, which I have no problem with for this line. I'm looking forward to plugging in.

The Bandmaster has had 2 channels with separate tone and volume controls since 1960. I just hope they don't use the same cheesy components and cheap flimsy PCB's and PCB mounted tube socket procedures that they use in the Hot Rod Deluxe. I find it funny that after more than ten years the bad solder joint problem hasn't been addressed. You still see the same recurring problems with tthe HRDlx on many amp forums.

I'm all for evolution just as log as it's an improvement and not done for cost cutting high profit measures.

I knoe there have been some problems, but the hot rod deluxe is the largest selling amp ever. Mine is 12 years old with never a problem. Now I had to change tubes & speaker to rid it of the boominess and improve it's overall tone, but I have never had a moment's trouble with it.

Well I`m going to get one of these as soon as they are available.
The music store said they might not be available immediately and are looking into it. Anyone know what the hold-up is/might be?

You're extremely lucky. Just Google Hot Rod Deluxe Problems.
It's the top selling amp because of it's price point, it's loud and it sounds good, but it's design is unreliable.

My first real amp was a 67 bandmaster. Traded it in on a twin. I may have to go and get a look at the new bandmaster.

Man I`m wrestling with getting this or the Supersonic.
Friend I jam with has a JCM 2000 Marshall, which I think is a 100w tube amp. No he never turns it up.
My amp now is an early 80s power chorus which I think is 130w output -solid state.
I want to get something with more ooomph, but the bandmaster is only 40 watts whereas the Supersonic is 60.

I understand that tube wattage is "louder" than solid state but I`m leaning to a higher wattage to keep up with the JCM.

Also, the Bandmaster is surprisingly cheaper than the msrp from the fender price list, so it frees up some purchasing power.

argggh, decisions
