It says that the internal speaker is 8 ohms. It says that the external speaker jack is wired in parallel with the internal speaker and will effect the ohm load.
All my cabs are 8 ohm cabs so....
If i use one of my cabs that are 8 ohms with the internal speaker still plugged up this would now be a 4 ohm load, correct? And if this is correct, it is alright to have a lower ohm load NOT a higher ohm load???
I always forget the rules.
Basically can i run the internal speaker WITH the ext. 8 ohm cab, or should i disconnect the internal speaker when useing the ext. cab?
Also if i disconnect the int. speaker should i then plug my ext. cab into the internal jack or should i still use the ext. jack even if no int. speaker is connected?
Thanks in advance if for whoever re schools me on the ohm situation.

2 8 ohm cabs in parallel = 16 ohms
2 8 ohm cabs in series = 4 ohms
rockfordfosgate.com has a really good calculator on thier site

Just go ahead and plug in the 8 ohm ext cab, you're good to go.

No need to disconnect the internal speaker. Load will be 16 ohms and may reduce the power output, but by using more speakers to move the air (which is how we hear audio signals) the sound pressure level will be spread over a wider area making the 'apparent' volume louder. Seperating the cabs by a distance will increase the coverage of the area, but will also show up as a slight 'apparent volume' drop.

Amps (TUBE amps especially) need a load, without a load they will just put out as much as they can until they finally fail, so a 4 ohm load = bad, a 16 ohm load = OK, but you should always try to stay within the manufacturers stated tolerances, in this case, 8 ohms.

That's a quick low tech explanation, others here can go into more detail. I only jumped in 'cos no one else did. And if I'm wrong, someone here will spank me.
