I have a Princeton 112. I bought two different foot switches and neither one works with it. Maybe I'm getting the wrong one. I need to know which one goes with this amp. Could there be something wrong on the inside of the amp? Is the a way to check that? Thanks!

Maybe you've tried this, but check the owners manual which usually lists compatible footswitches. If it is a used amp and/or you don't have the manual, search for it online. I've found an electronic manual for my HR Dlx on musiciansfriend.com. I'd start there.
