Someone please help me out here. I'm pretty new to all this and I need advice.
I have found a Pro Reverb that is apparently new. Looking at the pictures it looks new and still has the tags on it. The description says it has only been "tested" but never used. They are asking $1000.
Is this a good amp? I can't find it on any retail sites, they all say it has been discontinued. So, is the price fair? Why was it discontinued? Was it not a good amp? When was it discontinued? How could this one actually still be new?
Time is of the essence because it is the last one I can find.
Thanks in advance for all the help.

Where are you looking at? Do you have a link to the place you see the amp at?

I bought a NEW PRo Reverb about 5 or 6 years ago for ~$950 from my local music store . . . I am thinking of selling it. It is in MINT condition and barely used - like maybe a total of 10 hours in my family room. I was learning how to play for a while then gave it up for other hobbies... Interested customers should post a message here.

I just purchased a Fender Pro Reverb 112 50 watt combo. Go to Harmony Central and check out the reviews. It gets very good reviews for tone and musicality.

I bought mine in good used condition for $525. The tremolo doesn't work (any ideas as to why?) and one of the power tubes is microphonic. However, the overall tone is great. The clean channel can be boosted by enabling the effects loop (has both send and receive volume knobs). The Gain channel get great overdrive distortion and is brighter than the clean channel using the same tone settings. Both channels have bass, mid, and treble.

The reverb and effects loop are tube driven. All-in-all, there are 7 - 12AX7s, 1 - 12AT7, and 2 - 6L6GCs.

The footswitch has four buttons: channel, effect, reverb, tremolo.

The 1 - 12" speaker is a Jenson C12N.
