Hey, guys. I'm having an odd problem that I hope you guys can help me with. I have a new Blues Junior. I play in a band, and when I use overdrive: either with my BD-2 or cranking the pre-amp volume, I can hear the vocals and keyboard coming through my amp. I only notice it with my Classic 50's strat and only when using overdrive or cranking up the pre-amp. At first I thought the pickups on my strat were insanely microphonic and used that as an excuse to put a set of Custom Shop '54 pickups in it and have it completely rewired- new pots and switches professionally installed. But, the vocals and keyboard are still coming through my amp. I haven't noticed it with either my Epiphone SG or Les Paul, or my Standard Telecaster: all stock.

I thought that the problem was a microphonic tube after rewiring and new pickups for the strat. But, if I back off the guitar volume or turn the guitar volume completely down, then the P.A stops coming through my amp. So, I guess my question is, if it is the amp, what is causing it, and if it's the guitar, how do I fix it? Could a microphonic tube let the sound from the vocal monitor bleed into my amp? Could the tremelo springs somehow pick up the sound from the monitors and transmit it through my amp? Thanks, Donnie.

Are the guys in the band using wireless mics and/or wireless guitar rigs?

Give us a pic of your guitar wiring if you can. Something might be amiss in the wiring. Also, swap the 12AX7 preamp tubes around to see if it changes anything.

We are using wireless microphones. The keyboard, however, is plugged in to a D.I box but it comes through as well. My amp is mic'ed with a Shure SM-57 to a D.I box. What would make the wireless mics come through when playing the strat as opposed to the other guitars? I don't notice it except when using my Blues Driver pedal or amp overdrive, and it did the same thing with the stock pickups wiring and the custom shop pickups with new wiring. Wiring is pretty standard strat wiring, except the bridge pickup is wired to the second tone control. I had the work done at my local Fender Authorized Service Center. But, I experienced the same thing with the original 'vintage style' wiring. Thanks for your help guys. Donnie.

UPDATE: I think it has something to do with the actual tremelo bridge instead of the amp. The bridge itself seems to be very microphonic. Tapping on the bridge with a pick sends a clear tap sound through the amp, more so on the bass side than the treble side. So, I'm thinking that the sound from the P.A was vibrating my bridge, but how do I fix that? I put masking tape on the trem strings and blocked the trem after setting it flush against the body. Donnie.
