I recently traded in my Cyber Twin SE and picked up a new HR Deville. I really like the tone I get from this amp and I think it will prove to be very versatile. I play everything from Cash to Slash. I was curious to hear from other Deville 4X10 users about their experiences, positive or negative.

As far as the amp goes its great, I have the blues deville and it performs admirably great tone and affordable. Not really related but I am sorry to hear you like slash.

LOL!! Thanks Teamshakenbake. Slash was a great influence early on. My tastes have grown a bit in recent years.

Next to the twin reverb, the best club size amp ever built

I recently went from a FM 210R to the HR Deville 410. Needless to say, the Hot Rod blows my old amp away. The first Hot Rod I got was doing some weird stuff, like dull, whiney feedback at low volumes, and the reverb going out intermittently. I tried replacing tubes, but had no luck, so I ended up exchanging it for another one. I am not sure what was up with that, but have heard that there can be problems with some of the solder points going cold in this amp. The second one I got has been great. I play hard stuff that verges on punk or metal, but more natural and bluesy, and I get plenty of good tones with a Russian Big Muff in front of it, along with the drives on the amp. Of course, I never have to worry about being heard!

I have recently purchased a Fender Hot Rod Deville 4x10 and I am in Fender Heaven.

I play Reggae/Funk/Ska live with my band and I love it.

It doesn't break up on you too soon and has heaps of headroom for that clean Fender Tone, which gives me clean Reggae Chops at full depth.

when I want to hear those single coils from my 2008 MIA STRAT scream through my Boss CS-3 and Ibanez TS-9 stomp boxes, this amp really provides an outer body experience when I play my solo's.

At the moment I can't see past this absolutely stunning sounding vintage looking amp.

I certainly don't regret buying it and it will die with me.

I absolutly love mine! For some reason the HRDX gets a bad rap on other forums at times.

The only thing that I have found (and this happened to mine) is the power tube sockets get over heated and create a bad solder joint. That creates some snap-crackle-pop sounds... :( It is an easy fix though just to flow some solder on the board. Just be carefull.

Another thing I've found is this thing is LOUD for home use!! Not that I'm saying thats a bad thing. I built one of those volume boxes that go from the Pre Amp Out to the Power Amp In from here: http://www.fortunecity.com/marina/newland/2081/id3.htm and works like a charm to turn the volume down while still keeping the tube sound in the house....

I've had a Deville 410 for about 8 years now, and I absolutely love mine. A couple years ago I replaced the speakers with Eminence Patriots (2 Copperheads and 2 Ragin Cajuns) and the amp sounds incredible. This speaker complement gives a very Fendery sound, but also adds a massive bass percussion. With my BB Preamp in front of it, the Deville almost sounds like a hot-rodded JTM45, which is no surprise to me, since the DeVille is derrived from the 5F6 ('59) Bassman, and the JTM45 is Marshall's take on the Bassman. Great amp. Oh, a big key though - get yourself an attenuator (I use a Hot Plate). Actually being able to turn up the power amp really brings out the beauty of the amp.
