I have a Protube Twin Amp and am having trouble with the effects loop. I have been running a multi-effects unit through the loop and it had been working very well. Now something is obviously very wrong and I was wondering if the tube for the loop could be bad. I have another AX47 tube and here's my question - do I have to have any biasing done if I am replacing one tube with another of the same type. I love tube sound but I am definitely not a tube technician. Thanks for any help.

No. Its a preamp tube that is self biasing. Generally, only the power tubes need biasing

Thanks for the helpful reply. I guess the diagram in the back of the amp will show me which tube is the one for the effects loop.
