They will wiggle a little. If it's brand new and it bother you take it back or get it checked out. Be careful wiggling them because if they are soldered to the board, you can damage it.

Oh, WHEN YOU TYPE IN ALL CAPS, IT LOOKS LIKE YOU'RE YELLING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pull the tubes out gently and bend the metal plates that contact the tube base on the sockets inward, where the tube would be. Then reinstall tubes, making sure the base of the tubes fully seat to the tube socket, and the metal tabs that you bent should also contact the tube base more firmly.

While the tubes are out, make sure the sockets themselves are not loose. If they are, take the amp to a technician, unless you are confortable opening the amp and attempting to tighten them or resolder them. I am not sure if fender connects them to the chassis or board. If you have not opened a tube amp before and know what to watch out for, do not open it. There are voltages in there that can kill you, even if the amp is unplugged

Be sure to discharge the electrolytic capacitors. There are lethal voltages in there. If you touch the chassis while tensioning a tube socket you could get bit. If you don't know what they are, take it to a tech or just return the amp.

This seems to be fairly common. When I got my BJ and plugged it in, the pilot came on and the tubes glowed, but no sound. Not being familiar with the circuit, I jiggled the power tubes -- one was barely in is socket, so I seated it properly. Still no noise.

Then I turned the amp around where I found an empty tube socket!

I found the errant 12AX7 stuck to the speaker magnet. It took a minute to straighten out the pins where it would seat in the socket, but it has been fine since.

It's a terrific sounding amp, now.

Always rest it on its back in the car if it doesn't stand up. This will stop the plug hitting the back of your speaker......and avoid rain, if you must walk with it in the rain get the cover on and run like hell!

I think you can find a cover on this site or you can get an old tent or trampoline skin and make one?!?!?

I bought a brown cover with the Fender logo on it from MF for about $20; it also comes in black.

If you want heavier protection you might want to try to find a case.

I've been lurking and getting great information. Thanks for this thread!

My wife gave me a tweed Blues Junior for Christmas and when it came out of the box one of the tubes was outside the cabinet. I thought, Oh No! However, I replaced the tube and it sounds okay. I hope it will continue.

On a related note, since I'm worried about loose tubes, etc.: When I set the amp down I hear a rattle from the cabinet. I was concerned that this was loose tubes but it doesn't seem to harm anything. I just baby the amp and hope for the best. Do any of you hear this sound?
