would i damage my super champ by plugging the line out in to a frontman 212R?

I don't see how that could hurt your super champ.
The recommended manner would be to run the champ's "line out" into the "power amp in" on the frontman.
If you want more control over the relative volume of the 2 amps, you could also try running the line out into the lower gain guitar input, since the champ's line out signal is hotter than a guitar signal [to minimize the risk of damaging the input stage of your frontman] - but you do that at your own risk.
Caveat aside, I've run the line out of my SCXD into the guitar inputs of 3 different amps, both tube and SS, for extended periods and without apparent harm.
