Lighten up.
The Frontman 15 just sounds bad. It's sounds boxy and thin. It is what it is. A really cheap practice amp. You'd be better off with a Champion. 15 watts of solid state power is nowhere near 15 watts of tube power. Even a 5 watt Epi would be better.
On the other hand, for a young kid just starting out, it's perfect.

You have to take them for what they were made for. An inexpensive practice amp. Really almost a toy. There are lots of young kids learning to play on them. I'd bet that they love them as much as many of us love our more powerful big brothers. I actually have a few of them and have given a few to friends and family members who enjoy having them.

I got one free with my first guitar......the thing has literally one sound!
i even plugged an effects pedal into it and "voila!".... no change!
