Hi
Is it me or are Line 6 really the only good digital amp manufac. Yes Marshall, Fender and Vox are amazing in the analog world but you can't beat a digital sound that can do an exact replica of the same thing.

I'm really not fond of the Line-6 amp sound.
I haven't yet heard a digital modeling amp that sounded quite right.
They are just imitations of the real thing,
And line-6 is harsh, best suited to the young thrashers. who haven't found real music yet.

sometimes line6 are good. there pedals are excellent, their amps and pods arent that good when compared to the rest of the market. Their good in their price range but dont compare to high end manufacturers. Digital amps all sound one dimensional to me. The transition from clean to driven isnt smooth either, and all digital drives sound too bassy and buzzy to me too.

digital is a nice resource to have. When sound really counts, I blend the two together. I prefer digitech (due to its acoustic simulator) then I run a mono signal to a tube amp. The trick I've found is to keep your digital output signal low (25% or so) and let your tubes add the sparkle. Plus the tubes will add a dimention to your distortion and usually let the cleans shine through. As far as line six I havent used any of their stuff. As for crate I have heard the glowing reviews and sampled the products and I have never been able to to achive the sound I'm looking for. I would make sure that you love it before you put the money in "the mans" hand.

I remember trying one out at the shop and the guy really recommended it but the words analog valves/tubes was still niggling the back of my head.

I've had mine for nearly two years now and it sounds ok until you get to quarter of the way up the vol, then awesome until you get to a cetain point and then all the quality drops, however, whatever setting I ahve it one the tone of the guitar comes through more than any other digital amp.

I initially bought the Roland cube x to practice with but the sound just starts to annoy me too fast. So along came the BD :)

The Roland still has its place, it has a cd in jack and I use it to pump out backing tracks at a decent volume from a portable CD player or iPod to practice along with.

I have a couple of Fender guitar amps (Jazzmaster Ultralight, Hot Rod Blues Jr NOS) and a Line 6 Floor Pod Plus, which I bought for the wah and tremolo.

I have explored the amp modeling function on the FP+, but I prefer plugging my Gibsons into one of the Fenders and just using the tremolo and wah.

Both Fenders have a subtlety and liveliness lacking the FP+. The Line 6 product seems to have exaggerated profiles that I don't find very useful. After all, I'm trying to sound like ME, not like some tattooed teenager.

Functionally, the device is straightforward, once you read the manual, and what I want is easily reproduced session to session. But nothing in there sounds as good as the BJ with my 335 plugged in, cranked up a little and playing with some good musical partners.

I'd probably buy the FP+ again, given my needs and the lack of another box that integrates the features I use, but amp modeling? No thanks.

All of my amps are Fender. I have two digital ones: a 2003 Cyber-Champ and a Vibro-Champ I bought at the end of last year. I record with them, no live gigs.

FWIW, I have a Line 6 PODxt, but it hasn't gotten a lot of use.

How can you make a digital sound better than the real deal. If it don,t have tubes I don,t want it.
