Harley, I`ve never tried linking my other amp to the G Dec or any of the other things you mentioned. I guess you`ve alrerady realized I`m not one for tinkering around with all the settings it offers. I want to turn on the amp and hit the dirt running. I don`t like dialing in clean or distored sounds although this is the perfect amp to do that sort of thing. I`ve seen the video demos on this amp also but I wouldn`t think it would be good for stage use. The Cyber Twin is a better choice. The G Dec is a good practice tool with the drum backup but I`d rather go with the Blues Jr.

Thank you Joe,
I had a feeling that none of the G-Decs would be suitable for live performance, which is why I'm considering the Cyber-Twin along with it. I was thinking that by creating guitar sounds with effects in the G-Dec, and trying them out with the backing loops, that I could get more of a realistic idea of how well they'd fit in a live situation, then copy those patches into the Cyber-Twin for performing. I'll start a new topic in the Forum and ask if that can work that way. Maybe someone has already tried that.
I remember trying the Blues Jr. a few years back, and I thought it had a decent tone for what it was, but it just had that one kind of tone, which I felt was somewhat limiting. I tried the Hot Rod DeVille after that, and liked that one much better. I believe that was the 212 model. The notes of my guitar still had all the beef of the Blues Jr, but it seemed to have more "air" to it, and plenty of headroom to work with.
Have a Safe and Prosperous New Year Joe, and thank you for your help.

Harley I`m not sure if your still watching this post but yesterday I traded my G Dec in and upgraded to the Blues JR. I`m much happier and finally got the clean crisp sound I was looking for. I had too much trouble with the G Dec trying to tweek in what I wanted. Us older guys have a computer hang up I guess, it was too confusing and drove me nuts. I play the guitar to relax, not to fight with an amp.
You have a Happy and Healthy New Year as well.

The more I play my BJ, the more I like it. I don't know if I have a computer hang up but to me, the music's what I want to concentrate on, not learning a new piece of machinery. Luckily both routes are open with Fender gear.

Thank you Joe,

I totally understand, this kind of technology is'nt for everyone. If you can get everything you want out of one amp, with one tone, then that's great
In my case, I use tones that I get from my old Fenders, Vox, Marshall, and Soldano amps. Instead of taking all of these amps to a gig at my local nightclubs, It would be cool to just be able to take one amp that can give me all of that. It would be cheaper too, I can't afford the roadies anymore LOL!
Have a great time with the BJ, that's what every amp is for!
Have a Happy and Healthy New Year!

Harley, if you`ve checked into the G Dec, they give you the option of choosing different amps. Tweed 1-3, Blackfaces, British, and a few others that I can`t think of off hand. That might be a help to someone like you who has to carry around numerous amps. Have you looked at one in a music store or are you just looking online ? You`d get a much better idea of what it offers if you take a good look at one.
Happy and Healthy New Year...Joe

Hi Joe,
Actually, at the music stores around me, they only have the G-Dec 15 available. I know that one would not be adequate to use in small club gigs, which is why I asked about the 30. You were a great help in that respect when you told me in a previous post that you did'nt believe it would be a good amp for small gigs like that. I do appreciate that. I really have'nt seen any kind of amp modeling technology that is particularly useful to live situations. The G-Decs are all modeling amps, where the Cyber-Twin is actually a reconfigureable amp. The CT is definitely in my future, there's no doubt about that, my concerns with the G-Decs were if I could use them for practicing/composing which I can and also, to create amp tones and effects combinations in my living room, then connect these amps to the Cyber-Twin and copy the sound patches to the bigger amps. That does'nt seem to be possible after what I've been learning about the G-Decs. I also thought that an amp like the G-Dec 30 might be big enough to use in some of the small, beer garden sized bars where we have some of our local jam nights. That would be nice, but if it does'nt have the tone, then it's a dead issue.
Joe, Thank you again for all your help.
I'd like to wish you and yours a Happy, and Healthy New Year.
