Frontman 65 or Superchamp? I currently have a GDEC JR and am strictly (for now) a living room guitarist, playing mostly metal rock and blues. :?:

I'd go with the Superchamp. You can get backing tracks to play on a stereo or whatever but the Superchamp is a great value.

SCXD hands down. I have had mine for a little over 24 hours and it has already become my favorite amp. You have a variety of tones and most of them are good. Some are very good. The effects are OK, but the slap back delay and the reverbs are pretty good.

I have run mine through a 2x12 cabinet and it just gets better. It sounds good with either single coils (classic Fender cleans and spank) and with humbuckers. I played my Les Paul through it (with P 90s) and it was wonderful.

I have a SCXD and like it quite a lot. I just use it for living room play myself and it fits my needs quite well.
Two potential drawbacks to some: no line input for CD/MP3 backing tracks and no headphone jack - neither of which matter to me.

The clean channel is quite good - good Fender tube clean all the way up to high volumes. Adapts to pedeals well - I use a Modtone Speedbox for a little overdrive.
The built in effects are OK, not earthshattering - but I do like the delay and reverb (and chorus) and all of them are fun to play with without having to mess with a pedal chain.
Some of the voices are better than others, the real value to me is being able to get "crunch" when I want it without having to drive it to high volumes.
I even use the amp for my acoustic on the jazzman and acoustic settings...

I highly recommend it.

Have a dumb question about the Super Champ XD. The song that is played in the soundbites under the description "Acoustic Hijinx"

http://www.fender.com/products/amplifiers/superchampxd/

does anyone know if this is an actual song or just some picking being done? I think this is the amp I'm going to buy when I get my new American Standard Tele! Wish I could afford the Princeton Reverb though!! Thanks in advance. Glenn
