Hi,

I downloaded the Champ 600 reissue schematic, and there are two resistor notations used. Some use 'R' and others use 'FR'. The FR resistors all seem to be rated to 2W.

I suspect that the 'R' types are carbon comp, and the 'FR' types are metal film. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Thanks.

Fender uses carbon film resistors on their mass produced amps. The F on the schematic indicates a 1% tolerance resistor.

I believe the "F" designates a flameproof resistor, usually in the power supply or the screen resistors on the output tubes.

I always thought it was "FP" that designated flameproof. I learn something on this forum every time I visit almost.
