I am waiting to have one I bought on eBay shipped to me and in the interim I want to hear from those who have experienced using this amp for both bass and guitar.
I play blues using two Strats and a P Bass. Currently I have a Blues DeVille 4X10 and a Sidekick 65. I only play at home with a couple of friends and we are not that loud. Occasionally a drum kit is added.
What I would like to do is have just one amp. I really don't like the Sidekick and have to change it any way. I hear I will enjoy the Bassman as a guitar amp over the DeVille and that encouraged me to drop the coin for the Bassman. I wonder what kind of bass amp it will be?

I've been wondering the same thing. Anyone?

Thanks.

I love mine for guitar and bass. For live performances I usually use a Strat and a Gretsch 6120 as well as a '51 Precision R.I. and a Hofner Cavern.

This amp is especially good for guitar although it can be a little too loud at times. It can't be played quite as loudly with a bass but it has great tone. Its best to use it for small venues and rehearsals when playing bass through it, unless you mic it.

For rehearsals and performances in smaller places this amp can hold its own using it for guitar and bass. But, in larger places I'll usually take three amps, a guitar amp, a bass amp and the 59 Bassman. That way I know I'm covered for tone and volume.
