Has anyone used an acoustic guitar on the acoustic setting of a Super Champ XD? If it works just half way decent I would like to use it for my eclectic guitar and the acoustic instead of buying two amps. Thanks...

I think an acoustic guitar thru #16 voice sounds horrible. I think that's because it is supposed to make an electric sound acoustic.

I play my acoustic thru the clean channel (or you could use #4 voice, but I think the clean channel sounds better, less treblely). And it sounds fantastic! But....I use a Boss Equalizer to take off some of the feedback, and "warm" the sound up a little. This is with an under-saddle Fishman pickup, your results may vary with other types of pickups.

Thanks for the input. Do you use the Boss GE-7 Equalizer? I'm going to the Guitar Center to give this a try.

That's the one. But I just want to "flavor" the sound, and not alter it too significantly. So all of my tone sliders stay in the lower half to third of the board (with the bass and highs up higher than the mids [scooped mids?]). I vary the intensity with the Level slider.

With the equalizer and amp tone controls, you can get all sorts of different sound. Put it through a voice (#1 is kinda fun) and the gain fuzzies it up. All this before you've dialed any F/X in. The Reverb/Chorus is beautiful.

One last added note: you have to watch out for feedback with an acoustic. If you plug directly in, it can get snarly even at low volumes. The Equalizer cuts much of that down, unless you push the sliders up too high (especially the bass). I figure an acoustics-based amp would have electronics to mitigate feedback. The SCXD probably does not.
