I didn't know much about Fender's vintage amps before I got my CT back in 2000. I did have a '59 Bandmaster, you can see it behind me in this picture from the mid '80s with my '66 Jazzmaster Image.

But, I still didn't know much about about 'how' the vintage amps sounded. Honestly, I got a CT because when I recorded my demos using my BOSS BR-8 recorder, I was using amp models & FX that I couldn't duplicate live with tweed 4x10 Blues DeVille.

Than, I started creating my one custom presets in my CT. It's like having a custom shop amp builder living in your basement :) .
