Anyone had a PCB amp converted to point to point? I have a DRRI - I haven't yet checked into the cost of the conversion in my area (Portland, OR).

Is this a worthwhile expense or should I save some money for a point to point amp?

I seriously don't mean this in a condescending way, but doesn't it sound great already? You might end up disappointed and light in the wallet. Have you heard any that have been modded already?

I have heard of some folks having an amp converted, although I haven't listened to one personally. I like the sound of my amp as is, and I agree with you - I would be extremely light in my wallet after such a conversion, with no guarantee of a better sound.

Thanks for your input :)

Just trying to be the voice of reason. I get lots of crazy ideas and half of them just cost me cash and end up a bust. I haven't played that reissue myself but my friend just got a Princeton RI and it sounds awesome!!

Hello Love2play,

Don't waste you money.
My favorite ptp amps are Carr.
Play one maybe yours will be too.

Cheers.

You can buy a complete kit from Mission or Allen amps. I've played both and both are incredible. Why convert a working amp.
