Can someone describe the difference in tone (if any) between a 212 and a 410? Finding a 212 to play and compare in my area is tough, and I hate to plunk down my cash for a 410 without at least having an idea of what it sounds like. The 410 is silky smooth to my ear, but I also like the rawness of a Hot Rod Deluxe, so I am thinking that the 212 would be just the ticket. Ideas or opinions?

How close would a Hot Rod Deluxe with an enclosure added come to the sound of a 212?

I love my Hot Rod Deville 410. I think it moves more air, and "sounds" louder. I mean, when I have compared it to 2x12s, I think the 410 sounds more like a wall of sound, and just fills more space with sound. I think it sounds pretty raw, but that's sort of subjective.

I have a Hot Rod Deluxe and a Blues Deville 410. The 410 is truly a great amp and I get some wamr tones and sounds. It makes me sound that much better as a player than I really am. It is a great blues based amp and at 60 watts will blow the roof off of your house. The Hot Rod Deville 212 is a hot rod deluxe on steroids with its two speaker cabinet and 60 watts. if you ave the time, try the Blues Deluxe which boasts 40 watts and a tad smaller than the 410 with one 12 inch speaker. The Blues Jr at 15 watts will give you a ton of tone and sounds somewhat like the 410 without the added watts. I would like my Hot Rod Deluxe a lot more if I didn't own the 410. It is a great tube amp and with some minor mods, it can be a truly great amp (change out the plastic input jacks and fix the cold solders on the tubes) Either way, you have some nice choices
