I have a brand new Blues Junior Texas Red. But lately i notice a suddently drop of volume and some weird noise... my amp did it twice this week. I turn it off and turn it on again and the problem was solved... for now! Does anyone knows why it does that? Or is it bad cables, or a problem with my guitar?

Thanks!

Sudden drop in volume on my BD was a weak solder joint break on the V3 tube socket, for the phase inverter heater.

Store I bought it from sent it out to be serviced under warranty, took a week to get it back.
Mine lasted about a month before the bad solder joint let go. :(

Not sure what else could cause similar symptoms, unfortunately it is probably best take it in to a tech to have it checked out.

Hi

I have the same amp about 2 months old and mine did the same sort of thing and I could even hear a static sound like someone talking on a radio over the amp.

It only happened once, I turned the amp off and back on and it has not happened again. I will let you know if it happens again.

Other then that one issue it is a awesome amp :)

Regards.

Did it again yesterday... it's really anoying. It's not that bad for now because i don't play gigs. I'm a bit disapointed in Fender, those amp are really awsome, but alot of people i know had some issue with it. And they are expensive, i wouldn't expect alot of problems with a 15 watt amp that i paid 600$ for it. But it is still an awsome sounding amp!

Hello Jacqueline560,

Like PeterP said get it back and have
a tech check it out, maybe you'll get
lucky and can get a loaner amp while
yours gets a repair job.

Those little red amps look pretty cool.

Hope things work out for the best.

Cheers.

It sounds like it's possibly bad solder joints on the tube socket. Circuit boards in the Blues Jr., and the whole Hot Rod series are pretty fragile. The 5 watt power resistors are troublesome too.
Good luck. I hope they can get you a new amp.

Sounds like you have a microphonic tube !!!!
The warranty on tubes is 6 months..... I'd have it checked out !!!

If you paid by debit or credit card it will be on the statement and will do nicely. FMIC do want to see proof of purchase. The stores only act on their behalf and so do what fender tell em to.

In Canada they send it to the nearest "Fender Authorized" repair place, not back to Fender themselves.

The store I bought mine from did nor require my original receipt, they just printed out another copy and attached it to the work order. (Computers sometimes are actually useful :) )

You might check with your shop and see if they can do the same thing?

Hehe ok thanks for the advice. I will contact the store to see if it's fine, but i think it will.

But now i have to wait until it's repaired, i got used to that awsome tone and i can't play anymore with my old "backup" amp, cause now, it sound horrible because i'm use to that Blues Junior. hehe

:)

horror of horror's.

what if you get the amp back and cant get the favourite tone out of it. JK
On a serious note, ive always found valve amps sound there best just before they blow up or burst into flames.

Keep us informed on the outcome please.

ok now... i drive 3 hours to get my amp fixed, they found the problem, change the tubes, it's working fine, i get back home, start to play, after 10 minutes of playing, the volumes goes crazy again, and now their a static sound each time that i play a note, it's even worst than before. I'm starting to get annoyed by all the issues that i'm getting from that amp. And i'm making sure i handle the amplifier very carefully...

:(
