I don't have any presets to share , I start with basic amp sounds and tweak on the spot to get to the sound I want for the song.

I have the four pre-sets dialed in to standard settings and what gets the most use is the gain knob, the gain is set too high on nearly every factory preset.

I do treat mine just like a real amp after finding the general area of sound, a little bass here, a little mids there, reverb, etc.....

I have about 25 custom presets...but I'm in the process of moving and they're backed up on my main computer. I may get the chance to upload a few this weekend.

Duh, I meant to post a preset that Gary Hoey gave me, but now I'm back and can't get the text until I return...I'm too lazy to copy the preset by hand

I used it when I wrote my #1 Surf Rock song on Soundclick 'Overboard' http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=6818279&q=hi

Time to give this topic a valid bump :D

- and let people hear what (seems like Fender) discontinues -

It's a Super Reverb based patch on my Cybertwin SE. This patch is adapted to my all new Fender avri '62 left handed strat, that I used to play the lead part.
The other axes are a Epiphone Dot and a (*looks over his shoulder) Tokai Goldstar strat ('84)
The demo is a rough / raw recording of a song I'm working on. After listening to the lead patch I felt there may be Cybertwin users out there that may like it. If so, be a little patient, I'm gonna hook up cybie to my old Dell pc this afternoon and save the patch. After that I can post is here ( Yeah Johnny there to)

Here it is, see what you think of the lead tone : http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=10501698

hey lefty what did you use to record that ?
Mic or direct from the CT ?

Thanks

One of the things I hope to do is to figure out how to connect to my PC with the CT and law down multi tracks without costing me a ton of cash !

This one was recorded using a single Shure PG57 microphone (cheap) close to the speakers cloth (right upper part of the speaker, slightly angled towards the center +/- 20 degrees)
A little like the pic below, like the PG58 on the right speaker, only closer and a little higher
Image

I use an old D&R MR600 Mixer ($ 70,- used) connected to my Emu 0404 pci soundcard ($75,- used) This time I didn't have the spdif active, but most of the time I have that running along (No fx) on a 2nd track.

mhh..
The mixer ( I guess it's from the last part of the 80's)

Here is an old schematic, Some equipment has been replaced or sold btw.

Works for me :)

so where does the SPDIF connect to the PC ?
and I'm guessing that that alone won't give you a usable recording ?

Thanks !!!

The spdif-out from the amp goes into the spdif-input of the emu-0404 soundcard.
I started with using only the spdif or digital connection and end last year started going towards the microphones for recording. In a way the speakers add more mhh mojo and character to your tone/sound then the embedded speaker emulator in the CT does.

To I'm using the spdif less and less.

Gotcha and Thanks for the info.
So the SPDIF needs a special sound card ? I thought you could use the green mic input on the back of most PC's

Yup, spdif is based on digital information transmitted across the cable to the receiving end. To keep both the sender and the receiver in sync, there is a clock signal needed. in most cases I have my soundcard set to what I would call slave mode, so the CT generates the clock signal.

There are many soundcard - solutions that have eiter a spdif out or both in and output. I did notice some use - in my opinion awkward - a 3.5 mm mini jack as connector for spdif coaxial.... not the way to go though since you are depending on a 75 ohm impedance and a jack plug wasn't designed for that.

Remember spdif is digital based so will not work with normal inputs

I forgot to metion hyou can use a stereo xlr to 3.5 mm Y shaped jack cable from the CT to the pc input.
I started out with that. I simply used a headphone to keep the volume of the amp down :)
