Most of you probably already did this.......
So I've posted 14 variations on clean or clean with a bit of fat.
Leaving all other settings un-touched, try each preset with the gain cranked high, 8 to 10.
Now you have 14 variations on fat/overdrive with some distortion, while still retaing some clarity when hitting two strings at the same time......

As you can see , I don't use most of the effects when I create presets. Sometimes all that's needed is a good old-fashioned overdriven amp tone.
But I have to admit, in the hands of someone more experienced, like mvrush (& some others), when used tastefully, there's some darn good sounds in there. All six of mvrush presets are currently in my players lounge.
I've tried every preset that I've seen anyone post. There's lots of them, more than there is room to save in the Player's Lounge, & I don't like to lose them as I replace existing players lounge presets with new ones. Cyber Commander is the ideal companion with this amp - save presets on your computer, then easily change them back & forth for endless variety.
It really doesn't matter what other amp you may have (I always go on & on about Fender tube clean) the Cyber-Twin is a fun toy for any guitar player, any style. A friend plugged his Ovation acoustic (with pickup) into my CT, did some fingerstyle stuff, & smiled. Guitar players really do need two amps & the CT should be one of them.
The Cyber-Twin along with a product like Cyber Commander to back up the hundreds of settings you will eventually try (but not want to lose ) is fun.
This mini-review is the result of 5+ years of playing with this amp .

Okay, I just posted up a new Preset for you all to check out. This one is by request from LesK. It's a simple, clean amp preset that I only worked on for about a week. I can't say that it's quite up to the level of my time tested preset patches but I think I accomplished what I set out to do with it. I put up a post on my website detailing my thought process creating this preset patch. As usual I posted a sound clip, MIDI Sysex and text version of it.

You can check it out here:

Thank you
Needless to say that I'm really looking forward to your gig-tested clean preset. Take your time & make it a beauty, & I'll be keeping my eyes open for it. (I'm sure that others will too.)

Hey LesK, I do have to admit I like how the Pure Clean I did is basically naked guitar. I've been playing my different guitars through it and listening to their subtle differences. I did play "Folsom Prison" using LMC Pure Clean last weekend but I kept pumping up the gain on it. So I guess my gut instinct is to have some distortion on the clean tone, at least for that song. That's why I assigned the C.C. to the gain knob and I definitely used that pedal while using the sound. I'm sure I'll keep tweaking Pure Clean for a while anyway.

My preferred clean is the LMC Warm Rain patch I programmed. I use it on Wicked Game, Little Wing, Wonderful Tonight and several of my originals. It doesn't quite satisfy me on Wonderful Tonight though and I use a variation of the Super Reverb '66 sound that came stock with the amp for that song sometimes but it's a bit too grainy.

I also have a killer clean delay sound that's a combination of Warm Rain and Triple Delay. I love that one. I'll probably post that one up next and then get to my vintage marshall patches.

Time to share a patch....
I wandered of the path of the Blues :) (not left!) and started some retro progressive/symphonic rock stuff.

One of the is a raw recording, but just ! good enough to use as a example of my patch.

The patch is made for my Greg Bennett Avion, using the bridge pickup.
The sound is overdriven, some chorus and delay.

Here are the examples, one Youtube and one soundclick
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6Cix8yOs_A

http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7403427

Te Cybertwin is such a great versatile amp, I love it to pieces.
Opps, (edit) I added some extra chorus and channel expansion while mastering the track.

The patch

HalfBlindLefty, I really like the sound. I always enjoy listening to your recordings and I dig your guitar playing too. I've been listening to your music for about a year now.

I just posted up another of my preset sound patches as well. This one is a combination of my LMC Warm Rain and LMC Triple Delay presets. I call it LMC Warm Triple and it's one of my personal favorite sounds. I've used it on a lot of my original music. As usual I've posted the MIDI Sysex data, a text file and a soundclip.

You can check it out here:

Hey THouston My friend.

I've been gone for a while and just letting you know I'm back.

Had to sell off my last CT, it was the second one I had let go.

This time it was hard times that caused the loss, I said I would never get rid of my CT again.

Then I had surgery on my pinky finger of my left hand of all things, try playing some blues without your left pinky, its tough for shure !!!

Well I found a deal on a CT head and the stereo cab they sold with them, its a 1.3 version original CT and I gotta tell you it sounds even better with the 4x12 cab.

I scraped up the cash and brought it home.

sure do hope this one stays here !!!!

Now I have to start rebuilding my preset library.

Glad to be back in the fold.

YAY! Cyber-Twin people!!! ....people who will understand!

I'm in Australia with a CyberTwin head. I basically bought it to replace my Marshall JCM800 which I was using live because it didn't give me as nice cleans as my 70's SuperReverb... but what did I expect?!?

Finally got rid of the Marshall and was wondering if there are any users with the head out there???

I was running my head through a quad with G12T75's but am looking to get a 2x12... what speakers do you suggest for me? I am assuming that the amp was designed with the original speakers that were used in the original quad in miond but I can't seem to find out what model they were.

Anyone had any experience with different speakers for this? Will Viontage30's colour the sound too much? Will it need a bigger driver?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Just wondering. Has anybody been able to get a Blues Deluxe amp sound out of the Cyber-Twin SE???

They have a lot of amps listed, but no BDs are on that list.

Thanks.

Hey guys.

About building clean patches...IMHO one of the missing ingredients is tube harmonic content, esp the power tube type. You can add a lot of that back by using the Ultra Clean + Chorus function. Run your patch to the edge of clean to get the max available native harmonics, then add just a touch of chorus to fill out the missing flavors, and use the Ultra Clean for just a touch of the detail and smooth high end. While it isn't perfect, it nevertheless is surprising how much clean amp-iness and there-ness you can dial in that way, and it works on all your clean patches.
