By "Acoustic", I'm assuming you mean like a dreadnought. At least that's the sound I've been attempting to get. However, right now I would just like to get a sound like 'any' acoustic. Be it dreadnought, auditorium, arch top or whatever.

My daughter brought up an interesting observation. She said the acoustic guitars at church (dreadnoughts) sounded kinda hollow. So I cranked in a bit more reverb and said hows that. She said, no - that just sounds like more reverb. She, of course, was right. I have found that she usually has a pretty good ear for things like that. So another area is - how to get "hollow", without reverb.

One other thought I'll leave with you.
I found that I could get closer to the sound by turning the gain down. This worked on several amps I was trying. You may want to give that a try. The one problem I encountered with this was, if I went too far down, I lost my volume. So the patch would have been hard to use in a live situation because of volume issues between the patches.

I'm looking forward to your posting your results where you finally get the sound, or ar least close to it. :D

Yes, a dreadnaught, more or less.

You're daughter has described the sound better than I could.

You've given me some more good ideas. It'll take a few days, but I'll work with those and see if I can get any closer and I'll report back later.

Thanks,
Marion

Could someone please post the two Vibroverb settings that are in the Cyber-Twin SE? I own a Cyber-Twin v1.3 and am curious on how close the settings are to the Super Reverb '66.

Thanks in advance,

Scott

Forgive me if this has been covered before, or if it's an impossibly naive question, but does there exist a document somewhere that breaks down all of the parameters of the Cyber Twin's factory presets? It would be really cool to have that data to build on or to modify for personal presets.

Thanks!

Not that I know of, but IMO not necessary. Why? If you select a preset you like, and want to change the parameters, than press the Amp button, cycle thru the settings, tweak what you want, and save it.

This is what I did to the presets I created.

Well, I guess I'm just curious about what goes into a given preset, without actually getting in there and scrolling through options. Looking for a kind of shortcut.

For those of you that have never seen the 42min video 'making' of the original CT, Brad is going to upload it to YouTube sometime soon.

It's very informative & interest as well.

Hey All.

Got to fiddling around with Marshall Bluesbreaker patches:

This is basically a collection

of those, with one stray

cat--a Champ-ish Kalamazoo Model II.

(Otherwise, if you're doing Crossroads,

the factory Champs do pretty well with

a tweak or two.)

BTW, note the sparing use of Reverb and

the liberal use of Delay. 'Verb in any

amp runs the risk of splashing out and

burying the tone. Using Delay to fill

in the space doesn't do that--much more

transparent IMHO.

Didn't do any stuff for EC's later

tunes, as he started using rigs from

all over the map. Besides, I liked his

early tone better anyway. :)

Happy pickin'!

Fender's factory patch, but with the

JCM800 cleans and blues tones, and I

thought that unique stout brilliance

would play really well to the CT's

Done with a Variax ES-335, volume rolled off.

A different departure from Fender's

patch...the Drive section isn't Tweed

anymore, it's HMB 2. Normally that's a

pretty gainy and agressive circuit that

I'd use for a later JCM900, but cleaned

up and placed here, I love it for the

wooly smooth cleans that sound so

distinctly Marshall. Works really well

with the CT's 2x12 personality.

I put new strings on my '66 Jazzmaster and was tweaking presets in my Cyber-Twin when out came a surf song. I recorded it on my BOSS BR-600 and uploaded it to Soundclick. It was #1 for a week, and has dropped to #6.

I called it 'Overboard' http://soundclick.com/share?songid=6818279.

Hey thoustan were ya been ????

Any new patches for us ????

I'm trying to get a chimey ultra clean tone like I get with my 4x10 blues deville.

seems as if I cant overcome the somewhat dark personality of the CT, I dont want ice pick, just no dark overtones.

The only setting option the CT is missing over the B/D is the bright switch, how can I compensate for the loss of it ????

Bondsman,

Bright and bells like sound.... Try this one. Works great with my Strat
The volume is high up because my strats pickups are low output but I adore the sound of them. So I won't exchange them with others and life with the volume

Sorry, I've been busy. We're just about done recording our second CD 'The Cold Backhand of Love'. All the rhythm guitar , bass, keyboards, and drum tracks are done. I'm recording my vocals, and lead guitar tracks.

Hey thouston good to hear from ya.

Let us know when the new cd is available.

Half blind lefty's setting is pretty close to being as bright and clean as my 4x10 deville, I just don't think you can duplicate the tones of 4x10 with 2x12 speakers.

I'm sure that huge cab something to do with it too.
