Hi Lucy,

the link to general cyber systems is: http://www.generalcybersystems.com/GCSWebSite/Index.htm
there is a lot of useful information on this site, including the manuals (these are free) and the Cyber Commander software. Take a look and learn what you can.

One problem though, Cyber Commander is available only for PCs. The reason is the software development cost (cash and tremendous personal time) and a rather small demand to date (you would be the third person to ask in about a year!). However, almost any any laptop will do. I hope this works out for you.

Good Luck & Kindest Regards,
john.

Hi all, I just posted up another of my custom programmed presets. This one is called "80's Rock". I posted a soundclip of it as well as the MIDI Sysex data for you to download.
If anyone wants to convert it to text I'll put that up there as well.

Check it out here: Cyber-Twin SE Preset "80's Rock"

Hi all,
I have just purchased a used CyberTwin. SO far I love it. The only thing is it only has ver 1.2 firmware. Is it worth the trouble of the upgrade? And if it is where can I get the Rom chip from? I've been serching all over the net with no luck :( Same goes for the Tube rattle kit.
Thanks

Thanks for the compliments on the presets. It's all in the quest for good tone. The Cyber-Twin SE makes it all possible though.

Hey Johnny, how 'bout converting my "80's Rock" preset to text for these guys.

Don't mean to put in a shameless plug, but the intent behind Cyber Commander's text creation and reading facility was to provide a quick and easy means of sharing single presets. Cyber Commander automatically produces text files every time a single preset is saved on your PC. These text files files contain all of the Cyber Twin settings, and because they are text, they can be posted on any forum. To read these text files, simply capture them (copy to scratch pad, open notepad, write into notepad, and do a save file from notepad) to your PC and let Cyber Commander read it - it's an error free way of transferring single presets using the forums.

ciao,
johnny.

Johnny,

If I say pretty please could you post it?

Pretty Please. Their I said it.

The Cyber Commander looks like an awesome package and I will probably buy it in the future but currently I'm totally strapped for cash. Also, I know you put your heart and soul into it and I appreciate your hard work.

However, see the above pretty please and consider posting this preset for us in text form.

Thanks.

Hey everyone, check out mvrush's presets. Besides "rock" he also has a couple called "rain" and "roar". He also has, if you click away on things, the txt files for these presets.

mvrush, you need to start tooting your own............horn. Those presets are amazing. I haven't tried them on my SE yet, but they sound great on your site. I look forward to many more presets from you, keep 'em coming.

Also, thanks for making those presets available by txt file.

Hey thanks for the props mrsspyderman. I've been programming synth patches since the 80's and guitar multi-effect racks since I bought my first Digitech GSP-21Pro back in the mid 90's. So I've had a few years and a bunch of equipment to develop my techniques for equalization and getting the sound I'm hearing in my head to come out of the equipment I'm programming. I don't particularly love to program patches and sounds because I become obsessive about it.

That being said, my first and most important mission as a musician is to sound incredible live! So the programming aspect of things came about out of the quest for killer live tone. That's why I spend the time programming sounds and I've spent hours tweaking my Cyber-Twin SE.

I really don't mind sharing my hard work creating these sounds. They are the sounds that I use live and I have some more that I will be sharing soon.

You can find all my custom programmed sounds on my Cyber-Twin SE Custom Presets Download Page and I'll add them there when I post new ones.

I own a CYBER TWIN SE

1) I CAN use the Berhinger FCB-1010?...Fender discontinued there exsisting pedal?......is programming gonna be a $@!&*?

2) GENERAL CYBER SYS./ Cyber Commander-SE - works on a pc?.....to use it, all I need is a MIDI box & "some" cables....and a laptop?....Works in real time so i can change a parameter & strum a chord & hear the differance?....laptop must be hooked to amp to use?.......when i purchase it, will it be a download or is it gonna come in the mail?

3) ....as far as exchanging "recipes" ....anybody have a good JIMI HENDRICKS sound?

ps: Damn happy to find you guys out here in Cyber Space......get it, "Cyber-space"................whatever.

Hi Redwine Rocker!

Yes you can use a Behringer FCB1010. But please note, the MIDI Map programming is done in the Cyber Twin SE, not in the foot controller. The foot controller does nothing more than send commands to the SE. All of these commands are of the type: "get this, get that, do this, do that" kind of commands.

If you can find a Fender Cyber foot controller, buy it as soon as you can. These are tough, indestructable pedals, perfectly matched to the Cyber Twin. I know, I took mine apart to check it out.

Cyber Commander SE works with the Cyber Twin SE. Yes, you need a "MIDI box" to connect your PC to the Cyber Twin SE (and foot controller). The best of these "MIDI boxes" are the Roland Edirol USB to MIDI devices, specifically the UM-2EX USB to MIDI devices. You will need 2 cables and one UM-2EX to hook up the Cyber Twin SE to your PC. You will need one more UM-2EX and one more MIDI cable to hook up the foot controller to your PC. I would recommend getting one short MIDI cable for the loop back test, not necessary but sure is convenient. The best gig-worthy cables are made by DigiFlex. For home, 10 feet should be OK (i have 20 foot cables). For studio or stage, really long cables.

Every setting/control is displayed in Cyber Commander. You also get 2 visual editors: Player's Lounge editor and MIDI Map editor. Any setting, Player's Lounge or MIDI Map can be edited, created, saved to amp or PC, all in "real-time".

Yes, Cyber Commander works in real-time - what you see on the Cyber Commander SE display (top half) is exactly what the Cyber Twin SE is set to and is exactly what you will hear. You can save the settings any time, into the Cyber Twin Player's Lounge or into your PC as a Single Preset file at any time (click on Single Preset Save To Amp or click on Single Preset Save To File). You never again have to struggle with Cyber Twin's tiny data window or spin those knobs or try to remember what you did - you see it all, can set anything instantly, and immediately save it to the Cyber Twin or to your PC or both, all in real-time.

Whenever a Single Preset is saved, a binary file and a text file are stored with the same file name, but different extension (*.spr and *.txt). The *.txt files are text readable with notepad, can be posted on any forum because it is pure text. Easy to trade.

Yes, your laptop must be hooked up to the MIDI devices, and the MIDI devices must be hooked up to the Cyber Twin SE and foot controller - it is the only way you the whole thing plugs'n'plays as a system. Wiring diagrams are in the manual, very, very easy to hook up.

For an idea of what Cyber Commander can do, download the Cyber Commander SE manual from the link at the bottom of the page: http://www.generalcybersystems.com/GCSW ... ources.htm . And please take a look at the FAQs at http://www.generalcybersystems.com/GCSWebSite/faq.htm .

Any decent PC should work, preferably with XP (or Vista...), it should have 2 USB ports for the Roland Edirol UM-2EX USB to MIDI devices.

When you purchase Cyber Commander, you will get an email with a link to download. Then you have to activate Cyber Commander on your laptop, that is done by being connected to the internet and by email. You will need a "permanent" email address because that is how we will get in touch with you. Your email address, name, purchase ID, etc will become a part of our permanant records and we will always support you. Ask rholloman or anyone else who has Cyber Commander - we strongly support our customers (the customer is king, no if's, and's, or but's about it)!

Ciao,
Johnny.

Hello everybody, and I hope your New Year is starting good, and getting better all the time! :D

If anyone wonders why I haven't been around the last few days, the reason is my computer has been giving me a lot of problems. The diagnosis seems to be a motherboard slowly dieing (capaciters going bad was mentioned). A new computer has been ordered and should be here in a couple of weeks. (not a good time at all for a big expense either)

(I'm writing this up in notepad and saving frequently, between crashes and reboots - trying to pass some info along)(so if it seems a bit unconnected - that's why)

To anyone interested - I have a Beringer FCB1010 foot controller and have used it with my Cyber Twin SE, so YES, it can be made to work. I have not used the FCB1010 for several years now, and have forgotten most of the details. Back then, I programed the foot controller to work with the CT SE, instead of trying to make any changes in my, then new, CT SE. It just requires a little learning on how the two interact. After that, it's just a matter of doing what needs to be done. I got the information on how to do it from a file off the Internet. I just did a few searches on the FCB1010 and the FCB1010 with the Cyber Twin SE. There was a Yahoo group that had a section of files with updates, fixes and explanations that covered many things.

I have not used Fenders Cyber Foot controller and can only assume that it would be a plug-n-play situation and work flawlessly with the CT SE, since it was made for it.

The Cyber Commander SE is a very useful piece of software for anyone that has a CT SE. John mentioned several of the features of the software. To fill in some of the gaps with some things I've learned: Those preset txt files that have been mentioned, and posted, can be read by the Cyber Commander SE software. So, the preset is quickly, accurately and easily brought up for use without any fumbling with the knobs on the amp. Just load it into the CC SE and it can be used. If you like it - then save it to your amp and/or your computer, or both.

One feature that has been the most used by me is the control of the amp the software gives you. That control is one reason I use the CC SE with my CT SE every time I play (with the exception of the past few days with my computer turning itself off, doing flaky things and in general not working right) I really miss that with the computer down.

When I'm able to get back, I also have several custom presets that others are welcome to use - if anyone wants them. Mine lean toward clean sounds used in jazz and blues. (I've noticed that many prefer the distorted, dirty sounds - mine aren't like that)

RedWine Rocker - I'll answer any question that I can, when the new computer gets here and I'm able to get back online with some degree of reliability. Also, John, at General Cyber Systems has been excellent (not just good) to do business with and help me get going with the Cyber Commander SE software. He has done what he has said he would do, and isn't just "blowin' smoke". He is for real. The CC SE is something that a person needs to experience, and get into, for themselves. Those of us that have it and use it can "tell" you about it - but each person being different, will see things a little different. My opinion, I would rate it "Very Highly Recommended". :D
