Hy.

I recently bought new Fender Pro Junior at ebay.com, which is made for USA market. That means, you have to plug it in 120V, 60Hz.
But I come from Europe, where we have 230V, 50Hz.
So I'm asking, what can I do to use my Pro Jr. on European electrical grid? I'll probably have to take it to some amp technician, but I just want to know what he'll have to do and what elements he'll have to exchange? There is probably transformer, which he'll have to swap for one that is used in european models. But what else?
Is that a difficult process, or can it be done quickly and with no worries?
If anybody has any experience with such things, please let me know.
Oh jeah, probably some of you will first thougt of buying an AC converter from 230V to 120V, but I think that those converters are quite expensive, if they are good, and on the other hand, I'm affraid that if I buy cheap converter, the amp won't sound as it should (I'm not worried just about the voltage, but also about frequency, and I think that cheap converters only convert voltage and no frequency).
There's an interesting quote from an interview of Neil Young's guitar techincian, Larry Cragg:

Quote:
We can tell when there's not enough voltage, and when we go to Europe we have to have 60 cycles instead of 50, so we have a voltage generator that amplifies a clean sine wave until we get exactly 120 volts, 60 cycles, very clean. Neil Young can tell, he says: "Well what do we have today, about 115 volts?" Sure enough, we do. He can hear that. He surprises me a lot with how much he really knows. You can't put anything past him.

Hope some of you can tell me more about what has to be done.

Best regards,
AM
