I'm gonna buy a new amp tomorrow. Either the Blues Junior or NOS Blues Junior. I was going to match that with a TS-9 Tubescreamer and a Dunlop Original Crybaby.

Do you guys think the NOS Junior is worth the extra $60-$70 dollars. I do like the tweed.

Do you think this will be an upgrade over my Epiphone 15R amp from a starter pack?

The NOS has a different speaker in it.
You will need to listen to both to decide which one you like the sound of best.

This site tries to A/B the NOS and the standard black Tolex versions

Ha :D , that youtube is the same VIdeo that is on the oldtonezone.com site.
It is from the same guy that does both the http://steviesnacks.com and the http://oldtonezone.com sites.

Hello Topseller,

I played many blues Jr's over the years,
and I cannot say which sounds "better".
I have a NOS but still play with a black one
occasionally and both are great.

I think the tolex my br a more durable covering.

Best of luck with your choice.

Cheers.

You can't go wrong with either Blues Jr., but you do need to sit down with each and see which one you really like.

I have owned both amps. In my opinion the NOS has a fatter tone. Both sound very good, but different. I liked the NOS the best and that is the one I still have. I also like that lacquered tweed covering much better.

bit off topic but you mentioned the TS9...
How are they for you? I am after one but have yet to try one yet I have heard them being used and they sound pretty sexy.
Also, any major differences between that and the Ts808 & TS9DX?

I feel like a lot of people go immediately for the TS808 and perhaps overlook the TS9. I just didn't want to spend the extra money and I haven't been playing long enough to be able to tell the tone variances well enough.
