I own one and love it! If you read the manual, you can take out the center two 6L6 tubes and set the bias from 16 to 8 ohms. Then with a volt meter, you can re-bias the amp to 40mv and set the tube balance adjustment to 0. NOW..... the amp is 60 watts in the high power position and 15 watts in the low power position. So now you have an amp that can be 15 to 100 watts when needed. In the 15 watt position cranked on the clean or "vintage" channel sounds awesome for blues or slight overdrive kicked in. If you play metal.........you will need a pedal. I LOVE MINE NOW!!!!!!!! When I play on big stages or outdoors.......I simply put the othe two tubes back in and set to high power 100 watts. Sounds great!

Thanks
That sounds very interesting.
Only problem is I'm not very experienced with rebiasing an amp.
I'd probably end up zapping myself.

Bear...........buy a volt meter at Radio Shack for around $25. On the back of the amplifier are holes to stick the red and black probes into and a screw driver slot for adjustment. So simple a 5th grader can do it! The manual tells you how. Very simple.......and VERY worth it! I also own a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe White Lightning. You need to know where to stick the probes on the circuit board. A little more complicated.......but still pretty simple and.......VERY worth it! The Twin is WAY more simple. Everyone should learn how to bias a tube amp. It is the difference from a dead amp and a live/awesome amp!

Thanks very much for the help.
I still haven't decided if I'm getting it or not.
If I do I will definately use all the great advice I've recieved here.

Thanks Again

I own the 100 watt Pro Tube Twin and like it alot. The clean and drive are extremely versatile and sound fantastic. However this amp is rather heavy and large and usually too loud for the venues I play. That is why I am selling mine and either getting a Hot Rod Deluxe or a Reissue Deluxe Reverb. The Twin is sometimes too much amp for my needs but if you are playing larger places or need power it will most definitely provide.
