I am planning on getting a blues junior and i want to get a good light distortion pedal and an overdrive pedal but there are so many. What do you recommend? Thanks in advance.

There are soo many different types for soo many different sounds! My suggestion is go to a guitar center, grab your type of guitar from the wall, sit in front of a Blues Junior and start test driving.

I have a BBE Green Screamer, but, that's b/c I like the sound. It's right for me. It might not work for you.

And frankly, don't put too much weight on reviews and advice (from me or anyone else!). It is about what YOU like.

The DigiTech Bad Monkey is a great OD pedal, and not very expensive. I use it with my BJ as well as other amps, and am very happy with it.

Hi there - if you have the $$$ and can afford two pedals, you should try out classics such as the Ibanez Tune Screamer for OD and the ProCo Rat II for distortion. If you want both in the same pedal, the Boss OS-2 Overdrive/Distortion is not a bad choice.

I have a Blues Jr. and have tried quite a few pedals on it. It does take pedals well.

Here are a few I recommend:

Barber Silver LTD
Digitech Bad Monkey
BBE Crusher
Digitech Screamin' Blues
BOSS Blues Driver

One of my amps is a Pro Jr and in my soul/R&B band, I only use a Digitech Bad Monkey and Boss Digital Delay.

I'm thinking of getting the Boss Blues Driver or the TS9 tube screamer
I'll go to GC to check them out

I have a blues junior that I play my tele's thru, I have 3 Boss pedals, the overdrive, distortion and the equalizer, all 3 work great with the blues junior. and don't forget the "fat" button on the amp as well. I use the Blues Junior when I don't feel like cracking up the 65 Twin R/I.
I would be surprised if you'd be disappointed with the Blues Junior.
Good Luck.
