I'm trying to figure out which amp would i be able to get better tones for the type of music I play which is... the strokes, raconteurs, interpol, bloc party, kasabian and thats kind of the big picture.
I want to be able to get a nice crunch out of the amp and if needed, ill buy a pedal for more distorted sounds... which amp would people recommend, I want one with channel switching for more versatility and i want a tube amp. I don't know if the BDx is going to be to thick and not be able to handle brighter tunes, but ive also heard that the drive in the HRDx is afhjkcvhkew so i don't know what to do, ive seen the SS but i'm not totally convinced.

The drive more drive on the HRDlx isn't that great IMHO. I had to change the preamp tubes just to tame it and make it usable. You'll need a pedal or a Marshall for crunch. My HRDlx hasn't been real reliable either.

I suspect the SS will work best for you. The others tend to have a warmer tone. I've had a HRDLx for 10 years with no problems at all. I did change the speaker and tubes. The stock speaker was too dark for my tastes.

All that said, will you be needing that much power? If not, you might want to consider something with less wattage. As always, it's best to listen to all the choices if you're able.

I'd go with the SS. Hands down a much better amp.

I'd go with the SS. Hands down a much better amp. 60 watts is really loud.
