Looking for some base settings for my new Blues Junior NOS. I play an LP LP Standard. I did a search for amp settings but couldn't find much. So I apologize if this topic has been discussed before.

Everything on 0.

Or everything on 12.

If you're feeling adventurous you could try some inbetween settings.

Try facing your amp north west.

Try it with eggs.....

.......On Tuesdays.

If you don't like reverb, try turning it to 12.

The Blues Jr has a lot of variety and the best way is to stand next to it and play and turn knobs.

I turn the treble down a little, turn the gain up a bit, reverb on 2 or off (mine has a Ruby Reverb, a worthwhile upgrade). The middle stays on 5 and the bass maybe 7. I turn the gain up higher than the volume, and I turn the Fat switch back and forth until I decide which way I like it. The settings vary depending on where I am and how loud I want to be.

I've recently acquired an ES-335, and I have a little more experience with it through the BJ than the Les Paul, which I generally play through a Jazzmaster Ultralight. The settings above work for both, but the LP has m inis, and the JM responds better to its pickups, while the Jr likes the full-size humbuckers on the 335.

Hope this helps.

There should be several threads covering settings for the Blues Jr. I know I have posted settings a couple of times.

Here's my settings for TODAY!

Notice that the master is high and the volume is low.

The volume gives you overdrive, so this is set up for a very clean 'classic' fender sound. even with the volume on 2 here - it's quite loud, and I'm using the volume as volume!

with a bit of reverb, you'll get a nice beach boys type sound.
Also your pedals will really shine through on this setting.

Don't fret too much with bass mids and treb, start at 12 O' clock, and fettle slghtly to preference.

Some people would whack the volume right up, and use the master as the volume control (I do too!) this will give a creamier warmer sound. good for classic rock, blues (junior) etc.
your overdrive pedals might end up sounding a bit muddy with this setting.

the fat switch is just a boost really - on the settings in the pic, it will get things chiming a bit more, and add a touch more volume and drive.

I wouldn't worry too much about what guitar you play with these settings - I was playing my 72 custom this evening which has a neck pick up as fat sounding as any LP, and classic tele bite at the bridge - both sound good.

It even works well with eggs.

Now let's both vouch to get out a little bit more!

I have always had some problems getting my SG to sound the way I want through any of my Fender amps. What I was told by many Gibson players who love the Fender amps is to turn the Bass down almost to 0, and adjust the others to what you prefer. I always felt the Gibson guitars sounded great for leads with my Fender amps, but always felt like the chords sounded bottled up on the top 3 strings. Turning the Bass down seems to help, and also try it with the FAT switch off.
