hello everbody!!!!
i picked up a new drr a few weeks ago, i am crazy about it. up until today i hadn't really gone past 6 on the vol.....well tonight i cranked it and it was awsome. what is the best way to get that tone at a reasonable level, say 4-5ish?? pedal wise ive got a big muff and a couple modulation and delay pedals...im thinking i should try a tube screamer, even though ive tried it with a fulltone fulldrive 2 and wasnt really felling it. anybody got any suggestions???
ps. i play mainly strats, but also play a semi hollow every now and then

What kind of tone are you after? I love my Fulltone Fulldrive Mosfet and DRRI. Maybe you'd rather have a channel switching amp like a Supersonic or maybe a Mesa or Marshall?

i didnt try the mosfet fulldrive, it was the full drive 2. i dont want a channel switching amp, i love how responsive my amp is to attack/vol knob, i can go from clean to a little dirty very easily. im after the tone my amp has, i play a variety of venues from small bars to bigger clubs. i want to be able to have the same tone at different vol levels

Try a power attenuator.

With guitar amplifiers, power-tube distortion is often the desired sound but it can only be achieved with the amp running at or near maximum power, and attenuators are frequently used to reduce the actual sound from the speakers to more practical levels while allowing the amp circuitry to still run at full volume.

Can anyone tell me what this amp is like with a humbucker guitar like the Les Paul?

If you want to keep the tone of the amp and guitar, get a Barber LTD. It will get light to medium overdrive going while preserving your tone. It's a great pedal.
